Our latest Palestinian Cuisine Session was a delicious journey through culture and flavors! Ten amazing women from diverse backgrounds came together to roll, fold, and cook their way through Shishbarak β those irresistible dumplings filled with seasoned meat and bathed in creamy yogurt sauce. π₯π«
Not only did we dive into the hands-on cooking process, but we also shared stories about the rich history of this dish and how itβs celebrated across the Levant. It was a beautiful reminder that food has the power to connect us all, no matter where we come from. πβ€οΈ
From mixing dough to adding the perfect garnish of mint and garlic, the session was full of laughter, learning, and flavor-packed moments.

The latest Taste of Heritage workshop took us on a delicious journey into the heart of Palestinian culture through Kunafeh β the ultimate dessert! Women from all backgrounds came together, not just to bake, but to connect over food, stories, and shared experiences.From the golden, crispy kataifi dough to the fragrant, sweet syrup, every bite of Kunafeh was a tribute to tradition. We laughed, learned, and shared stories of similar desserts from our own cultures, proving that food is the universal bridge between us all.

Our senior group had a wonderful day at Brighton Beach, exploring the vibrant Brighton Jetty Sculpture Show! ππΌοΈ We admired stunning sculptures, enjoyed lively conversations, and captured our favorite pieces on camera. πΈπ¬
After a peaceful beach walk, we gathered for a delicious lunch and some fun outdoor games. ππ₯€ It was the perfect mix of physical activity, creativity, and socialising βleaving everyone feeling inspired, refreshed, and eager for future adventures. β¨π

MWASA’s school holiday fun day at Goodwood Zone Bowling had mums and daughters teamed up for a day filled with laughter and friendly competition. π It wasnβt about the score – it was all about strengthening connections and sharing moments of joy. Can’t wait for the next adventure! π

MWASA hosted a fun-filled cooking session where young women came together to make mochi and bubble tea from scratch! With step-by-step guidance, participants learned new culinary skills and bonded over the joy of creating these tasty treats. π
The session was all about teamwork, creativity, and building confidence while having a blast. From kneading mochi dough to crafting bubble tea, the atmosphere was lively and full of laughter. And the best part? Enjoying their delicious creations together at the end! π΅β¨

From beads to brilliance! π«β¨ At MWASAβs jewellery-making workshop, young creators crafted beautiful pieces and heartfelt gifts for their mums! π©βπ§π Led by our talented intern Dina, the youth experimented with colours and mastered the perfect clasp. Every bead added was a step in embracing creativity, patience, and self-expression.

Over lunch at Agha Juice House, participants reflected on the movie’s themes and shared how they could apply leadership in their own lives – whether at home, in their communities and beyond. π±π¬

Breaking the stigma, building awareness, and empowering mental well-being! π§ π Our Mental Health Awareness session with Adam Zain was an insightful experience for women from diverse cultural backgrounds. From understanding mental health to tackling stigma and sharing, coping strategies, the conversation was full of insights. The discussions were not just informativeβthey were a reminder of the importance of prioritizing mental health and seeking support when needed. Nothing beats a sunny summer day at the park filled with delicious food, games, and even better company! ππ Our annual summer BBQ at Thorndon Park was a huge success, bringing together our CHSP seniors, SETS youth, staff and interns for a fun-filled afternoon. From the mouthwatering BBQ lamb and fresh nectarines to laughter-filled games, it was a day of joy! π This year, we were thrilled to have the youth join us, showcasing their leadership skills by organising games for the seniors and helping with the program. Their energy and enthusiasm made the day even more special, and the seniors truly enjoyed their presence!

Another successful round of our βRoad to Getting Your Lβ session was led by experienced driving instructor Abeer. The session provided newly-arrived women with essential driving tips and a deeper understanding into local driving laws and road culture. From understanding speed limits to handling stressful traffic situations, Abeer shared practical advice to help the participants feel more confident and safe behind the wheel.Β
