Shaista Kalaniya receives Irene Krastev Award Nomination

The Muslim Women’s Association of SA (MWASA) nominated team member Shaista for the Irene Krastev Award at the International Women’s Day Lunch held in Adelaide on the 5th March 2015. This was done in appreciation for her work at MWASA.

Shaista was successful in being a finalist for this award and the MWASA team is very proud of this achievement.

 

The Irene Krastev Award is an award for community spirit and work. Qualities that the International Women’s Day Committee seeks to recognise, value and commend through this award include:

  • Community involvement in SA
  • Participation in community activities
  • Achievements in community work
  • Leadership in women’s groups
  • Volunteer work with women
  • Individual and women’s groups; mentoring individuals and providing support to individuals and groups
